Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Outpatient Medical & Pediatric
Location: Gig Harbor, WA
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Pay & Compensation
- Local Pay: $62/hour
- Travel Pay (50+ miles from worksite):?
- $34/hour taxable
- $602/week meals stipend
- $952/week housing stipend
- Weekly Gross:?
- $2,778 on 36 hours
- $2,914 on 40 hours

Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (half day)
- Schedule flexibility available if needed
- First patient seen at 9:00 AM
- Patients scheduled 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and through the afternoon, with the last patient around 5:00 PM
- 30-minute documentation time after each patient
- 30-minute dock break daily
- Half days offered every Friday
- First Friday of each month: staff meeting with Gig Harbor and Silverdale teams
Position Overview
This is a quiet, low-stress alternative to the school setting, ideal for SLPs looking to transition into outpatient care. This true outpatient medical and pediatric therapy position offers 1:1 individualized treatment and a manageable, functional caseload.
- SLP caseload: approximately 45 patients
- Treatment model: 1:1 individual sessions
- Patient population: primarily pediatrics with some adult patients
- Significantly less chaotic than school-based roles, with built-in documentation time and a consistent daily flow
Patient Populations May Include
- Articulation and phonological disorders
- Language disorders
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Early intervention
- Fluency disorders
- Feeding disorders
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized, functional treatment plans
- Provide patient and caregiver education
- Maintain organized, timely, and accurate documentation
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary providers
- Participate in collaborative clinical discussions and care planning
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or eligibility
- Active Washington State SLP license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred?
- Medical or pediatric outpatient experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently within a supportive, clinician-led team

The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the implementation of speech/language pathology services.

- Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology
- Must hold a degree from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology
- Current licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of assignment
- One year of prior professional Speech Language Pathology experience preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
