Pediatric Epilepsy Fellow (ACGME-Accredited); Position Available July 2026
Location: St. Petersburg, FL
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) is pleased to accept applications for a one-year ACGME-accredited Epilepsy Fellowship. This advanced clinical training program is designed to prepare fellows for independent practice and board certification in epilepsy, with comprehensive exposure to the diagnosis and management of complex seizure disorders in neonates, infants, children and adolescents. The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at JHACH is designated a Level 4 Epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers and the EEG lab is ABRET certified. Facilities include a 28-bed neurosciences unit, 6-bed pediatric epilepsy-monitoring unit (EMU), a 97-bed neonatal, 28-bed pediatric and 22-bed cardiac ICUs.
Program Highlights
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) Hough Family Institute for Brain Protection Sciences cares for neonates, infants, children and adolescents and provides fellows with experience in a very busy epilepsy surgery center, with 50-75 epilepsy surgeries performed annually.
Learning opportunities for fellows include:
- Long-term continuous EEG monitoring: Neonatal ICU EEG and pediatric ICU EEG monitoring
- Evaluation of potential candidates for epilepsy surgery: Phase 1 pre-surgical evaluations, Phase 2 surgical evaluations including intracranial EEG evaluations (SEEG, subdural grids and strips), functional cortical mapping
- Selection of neurostimulation treatments including responsive neurostimulation, deep brain stimulation, and vagus nerve stimulation
- Outpatient management of refractory pediatric epilepsy: Pharmacological, surgical, and dietary therapies
- Multidisciplinary collaboration with neurosurgery
- Ketogenic diet and nutritional counseling
- Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic
- Genetic and metabolic testing
- Opportunities for clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly activity
- Mentorship from board-certified epileptologists
Candidate Qualifications
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Child Neurology residency
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Child Neurology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Florida
- Strong interest in epilepsy care and academic medicine encouraged

Requirements
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Child Neurology residency
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Child Neurology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Florida
- Strong interest in epilepsy care and academic medicine encouraged
