Clinical Care
Under the leadership of the System Chiefs of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, the Cohen Children’s Heart Center functions as a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on clinical and academic excellence. We are one of the highest volume programs in New York State, providing more than 17,000 inpatient and outpatient visits each year across 12 treatment locations. Our 125,000 square-foot inpatient pavilion features a newly renovated interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory utilizing the lowest-dose radiation commercially available, a specialized pediatric cardiac intensive care team, and the only dedicated pediatric electrophysiology laboratory on Long Island. Furthermore, we are qualified to implant the full complement of percutaneous valves and offer the only ECMO program across Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island.
Driven by rapid clinical growth, The Heart Center is expanding its specialized care capabilities. We have developed a dedicated pediatric CICU team with APP frontline providers and are currently planning a new, state-of-the-art CICU facility.
